M-REACH.org: Your Hub for Community-Engaged Research Across Michigan

MICHR’s Community Engagement program worked alongside its community-academic partners and MICHR’s Translational Innovation program to develop Michigan Research Engaging the Academy and Community in Health (M-REACH). This virtual platform is the first of its kind in Michigan.

“M-REACH is part of our hybrid approach to guiding community organizations, members, and researchers interested in or already conducting community-engaged research (CEnR) through the process,” said Erica E. Marsh, MD, MSCI, FACOG, Faculty Director of Community Engagement at MICHR. “We designed it to grow and strengthen our statewide network for CEnR.”

Features include :

  • a “matchmaking” program for community organizations, members, and researchers;

  • educational and funding opportunities;

  • checkpoints with MICHR team members;

  • and a calendar of CEnR-centric events hosted throughout Michigan.

Information available on M-REACH is not limited to MICHR-sponsored activities; rather, it is meant to be inclusive of all major CEnR happenings across the state.

“M-REACH will evolve over time as we reach new levels of engagement,” said Aalap Doshi, MSI, Director of Innovation at MICHR and lead designer of UMHealthResearch.org. “Future versions will include badges for experience/certifications, topic pages, and more. It will be whatever our partners need.”
