Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) for K Awardees

Open to University of Michigan faculty and staff. Current K scholars and K applicants will be given registration priority.

MICHR will offer the popular Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) for K Awardees this summer/fall and again in the winter/spring. RCR4K is a seminar that is designed to meet the requirements of the NIH K-23, or any federal or non-federal career development grant. To ensure compliance with NIH regulations, these sessions will be in-person, at NCRC Building 300, Room #376 for morning sessions, and Building 520, Room #1122 for afternoon sessions.

The 5-session (10 hour) seminar is mostly interactive, practice-based, and focused on addressing RCR issues (ethics, integrity, and regulatory matters) that have arisen in the course of your own funded research. It's relevant, hands-on, and includes mentoring from experienced faculty.

Important information about this seminar:

  • The NIH requires a minimum of 8 hours of face-to-face training. Link to requirements.

  • MICHR is offering 10 hours of face-to-face training in five, 2-hour sessions.

  • Scholars may attend sessions to fulfill some or all of the NIH training requirement.

  • Scholars may choose the sessions with topics most applicable to their own research.

  • MICHR will issue certificates after each 2-hour session.

  • It will be the responsibility of the scholar to manage their own training plan and their fulfillment of the requirements.
