Michael Maile earned his MD at Penn State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania and completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on the mechanisms and implications of injury to heart muscle that occurs during critical illness. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and works clinically in the intensive care units and operating rooms.
