MICHR-Supported Research Leads to $6.7M PCORI Award

Helping kidney dialysis patients have healthier treatment sessions and longer lives is the goal of a new $6.7 million project at the University of Michigan. The project will educate both patients and their medical teams on how to make dialysis sessions safer for patients. 

Tiffany Veinot, MLS, PhD, an associate professor in the School of Information and the School of Public Health, will receive funding for this work from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, or PCORI. Dr. Veinot received CURES funding from MICHR. Of obtaining the PCORI grant, she says, "A critical piece of the effort was the pilot work we did under this MICHR grant."
